"Christ gives me the strength to face anything" Phillipians 4:13

Our mission is to provide a Christ-centered shelter and to educate homeless, pregnant and parenting young women by providing a wide range of services that empower them to make positive and healthy life decisions for themselves and their babies.

The Sparrow’s Nest, will be a home for homeless pregnant teens and new mothers and their infants, and will include a residential care facility as well as an aftercare program.
The need for these services is great and urgent, because pregnancy and youth combined with homelessness are dangerous to both mother and child. Homelessness among these young mothers and their new infants is on the rise. In the St. Charles area there are limited services for homeless pregnant teens and more notable teens younger than 18 because of the behavioral, medical and licensing issues involved.
The Sparrow’s Nest will serve teens that either have no families or have families that are unable to address basic survival needs.
A pregnant teen may be admitted to the facility any time during her pregnancy. Many support services are provided to these young women, including access to medical care, individual and group counseling, spiritual support, food, and clothing as well as mandatory participation in education and/or job training, volunteering in the community, childbirth/parenting classes, practical life skills classes and independent living skills training.
After delivery, residents and their babies may stay for up to one year in the program. At the end of their residency, they may return to their families, live independently, or be placed in other residential facilities. The young mom and her baby then enter into our Aftercare/Transitional Living Program, which continues to lend emotional support, case management and follow-up care.

For when I was hungry, you gave me food; when I was thirsty, you gave me drink; when I was homeless, you gave me a welcome; Matthew 25:35
The religion which is holy and free from evil in the eyes of our God and Father is this: to take care of children who have no fathers and of widows who are in trouble, and to keep oneself untouched by the world. James 1:27
